For Whom The Bell Tolls

I really can’t believe the reports about the Dustin Diamond (Screech) sex tape. It seems — odd as this sounds — too good to be true. But who could come up with such an ingenious PR ploy.

I can’t read in a moving car, even when someone else is driving. All joking aside, I find reading in the car quickly makes me nauseated. There’s something about all the motion…. So what George Bush does is impressive. The president claims to have read 60 books this years despite having — in his words — “an epileptic reading list.” The first time I heard the clip below (fast forward to 1:49), I was sure he said “epileptic.” After listening a few more times, I thought maybe he said “eclectic” (his pronunciation sounds more like “eck-ell-ectic”), but am not sure. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Kirk Saarloos’s strikeout numbers going into tonight’s game against the Cleveland Indians:

40 K  115 Innings.  .85 K/BB (worst among starting pitchers in MLB)

Naturally, Saarloos goes on to strike out 11 batters in 5 innings.
